Didn’t have a room, but let me state that this place is great for breakfast or a cup of wine or beer. The tapas are excellent and the breakfast is affordable and delicious. Location right next to the beach is great and the staff is very nice and communicative.

Fantastic little hotel in downtown San José, located just outside one of the local public beaches. Good parking facilities a little outside the premises. Wonderful, courteous staff that goes the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. Well equipped gym in the basement area. Overall, a definite recommendation if you find yourself in San José!

We stayed here for one night recently and wish it could have been a week. What a wonderful hotel. We felt so welcome and the accommodations were first rate. Spotless and shiny, beautiful place that is very well cared for. We booked a sea view/terrace room and the views were lovely. Staff was wonderful. Everything you need is within walking distance. We parked our car and didn't need it again until we left. Close to restaurants, shops, and the beach. Roof top pool area was a lovely place to spend some time, breakfast outside was delicious. We loved our stay. Enjoyed the gym facility in the basement for some morning fitness. What a fantastic place.

If you're looking for a place to stay in San Jose, look no further! This hotel has the best location in the village. They're located within a 1 minute walk from the beach, 5 minute walk to the grocery store / plaza / kiosko (for all your needs), and there are also several excellent restaurants within close proximity. The hotel itself is very new and the rooms are very comfortable and super clean! The air conditioning is top notch (which is hard to find in San Jose), and each room is also equipped with a fan. The hotel has a charming rooftop patio (+ pool) and a fantastic bar/cafeteria below. They offer great breakfast options and the absolute best tapas in the village! If you want good value for your money, I'd 100% recommend staying here. Our family had the best vacation this summer. We can't wait to come back!

Cala Arena is a very nice small hotel with an excellent location just a few steps from the beach and a very elaborate design, especially the light concept. Nothing luxurious, but offering all you need. We had a really clean room with a very nice terrace, comfortable beds, real wood furniture, and a sufficient size. We were lucky to find a parking directly in front of the hotel but in peak season this probably can be an issue. The guy at reception didn't speak much English but did his very best to be helpful and friendly. Since my husband can't walk very well we much appreciated the small baggage lift in the lobby he could use. |The small cafeteria attached to the hotel is at least in winter a meeting point for the locals and you can get a good breakfast at reasonable prices. |We really recommend Cala Arena.

We made a last minute booking at Cala Arena whilst driving through Spain. It was a wonderful surprise upon arriving into San Jose. Gorgeous place to stay and rooms were comfy and staff were amazing. Parking close by was easily acceptable. Would highly recommend.
