Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel. The biggest issue was the unpleasant smell from the kitchen, which was strongly noticeable even inside our room. We had a room with an ocean view, but because of the smell we couldn’t even use the terrace, which is truly a shame. Moving to another room didn’t help either - the smell remained and significantly affected our stay.

Another disappointment was the inability to borrow an iron and ironing board. The hotel only offers ironing service for an extra fee, which I find inadequate for accommodation of this category.

There were also problems with poorly functioning doors - one day the cleaning lady even left them open for the entire day. This is not only unprofessional but also unsafe. Additionally, I encountered a cockroach in the hallway, which certainly didn’t add to the feeling of cleanliness.

The dining experience was underwhelming as well - very little fruit and vegetables. With half board, you also cannot even pour yourself water for free, which feels unnecessarily restrictive.

However, we didn’t let the hotel spoil our enthusiasm for the beautiful island of La Palma, which is definitely worth visiting - we will just choose different accommodation next time.

Overall, a rather negative experience with the hotel that did not meet our expectations.

We spent one week at Taburiente Playa as a family covering a span of three generations. All of us had a great week. Yes, the hotel shows its wear and tear in places but the cleaning was spotless and all facilities beyond any complaints. Friendly and helpful staff in reception, restaurant and bars. We were positively surprised by the quality and variety of the restaurant and enjoyed all menus - including well-prepared sea food. The bar service was busy at times but offering a wide selection of drinks to dive into - including non-alcoholic selections for all to enjoy. The location is very practical for further exploration of the island. A nice walk to Santa Cruz along the coast, alternatively bus 500 stopping nearby or local taxis. Moreover, many local trails to choose from in the vicinity of the surrounding mountains. The Los Cancajos beach nearby is nice and quiet with good facilities and in calm weather the snorkeling is great. We were lucky to spot both moray eel, octopus and sting ray.

While the hotel is dated, it’s reflected in the price.
However, there is no understanding of the concept of vegetarianism, so the vegetarian dinner consists basically of carrots and rice- a fact the manager doesn’t even care to apologise for, let alone offer to do something about it.
Generally, the food is of low quality- lots of tinned and convenience food. Only little is fresh or homemade.
The staff is hardworking and tries their best.
The evening entertainment was something you couldn’t escape, so early nights in were not an option. At least not for the pool-facing rooms.

Currently at the hotel and we love it. The staff are exceptional and they take pride in their jobs. All of the staff are very courteous and friendly. The food is plentiful and varied and the rooms are light modern and airy. Excellent location if it’s your first visit to the beautiful Islam of La Palma.

4th visit to H10..can't fault anything. We had an excellent stay. room was spotlessly clean and spacious. bed and pillows very comfy...bathroom spacious bath & shower fluffy white towels & free toiletries...pool and sea view..the only minor problem was that we were above the bar outside seating area it was a little noisy late into the night....meals were really good plenty of choices as we were A/inc and all drinks...checkin was very quick all staff around the hotel were very friendly and work very hard ..plenty of sunbeds no need to get up early like a lot if other hotels!!.so all in all we had a fantastic time..and being so close to the airport..so there will be a definitely 5th stay asap.

We stayed here with very large group of friends on a Tui package. Chose upgraded room and all-inclusive deal covering all food and most alcoholic drinks. Standard wine was acceptable|Food - extensive buffet with many salad and fruit options. Even at the beginning of service the food was luke-warm not hot - imagine cold chips! Usually one or two meat options and one fish. Pastas, risotto, pizza etc. Not many vegetables apart from potatoes. Desserts were largely cake-based and in neon colours, but ice cream was good. No typical Spanish cooked meats eg chorizo, serrano. Spacious dining-room with inside/outside options. |Room - spacious bed-room and sitting room with balcony and sea-view. Utilitarian in decor. In new building - a long walk with luggage. Dearth of porters. Small kitchenette with fridge, sink and micro-wave (!!!!!) - no plates, cutlery.|Indoor bar with spacious outdoor seating - very noisy. Nowhere to get away from loud music, not even in our room. This was exacerbated by a wedding all day until 10pm with extra-loud music, giving us a headache. Didn't bother with entertainment|Common areas - well-looked after, stunning atrium with luxurious planting and water feature. Plentiful seating. |General - high level of cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff, small Spar nearby, sandy beach and walkway near hotel, bus service to Santa Cruz. A number of swimming pools although several were closed - perhaps due to end of season? Children's pool and play area.|Would I stay here again? No. We don't normally choose a package holiday and it's just not our sort of hotel.

A Truly Authentic and Wonderful Stay at H10 Taburiente Playa||From the moment we arrived for our 14-night holiday, we felt a sense of calm and genuine cultural immersion at the H10 Taburiente Playa. As a UK family, we instantly appreciated being in the minority, surrounded by Spanish guests from the mainland and other Canary Islands. This created a truly authentic atmosphere that allowed us to feel like we were truly experiencing another culture, not just another tourist resort.||The hotel served as a fantastic base camp for our young family to explore the stunning island of La Palma with our hire car. The staff's dedication and warmth were a consistent highlight of our trip. They are all incredibly hard-working, yet they always served with a smile, and nothing was ever too much trouble. We were particularly grateful for the exceptional service from Juan, Pedro, Daniel, David, and Yessica, who consistently went the extra mile to make our stay pleasant and memorable.||Mealtime was a delight, with the delicious food and a wide variety of options. Even our picky small children were soon trying something new and delicious daily—a testament to the quality and appeal of the menu. The hotel also kept us and the kids entertained with regular daytime activities, including pool foam parties and inflatable slides, which were a fun and welcome touch.||Beyond the hotel, we explored some of the island's most beautiful spots. We were captivated by the breathtaking capital, Santa Cruz, and the amazing views from Mirador el Time. A day trip to the sea pools at Charco Azul was fabulous, and we found the facility at Volcán San Antonio to be an incredible way to learn about the island's volcanic history.||A special and unexpected highlight for our football-mad son was the II TORNEO U19 BONITA Cantepro tournament. It was a fantastic experience to watch some amazing football and to have many of the players staying at our hotel.||In all, we absolutely loved our holiday. We're already planning our return and now completely understand why La Palma is affectionately known as "Isla Bonita."

This was our very first visit to La Palma and the H10 Taburiente Playa, it did not disappoint. We appeared to be the only British couple there but the reception staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Our room (double with sea view) was comfortable, clean, shower/bathroom perfect. Restaurant clean, friendly staff and a wide variety of food each day. Pool bar again clean and staff pleasant. Pool areas clean and had plenty of sunbeds not enough parasols though. The lobby bar was really nice and the barman was lovely and friendly, shame it was only open 8am until 12 noon. We would definitely return. Great value for money.
