If you're on Highway 70 near Ruidoso, you should definitely stop in the Mescalero Apache Cultural Center and Museum. Half of the museum has reopened for display and the curator is a most gracious host, passionate about his Mescalero Apache culture and very knowledgeable! Joey can share a wealth of historical information about the Tribe, as well as, the local area, and neighboring states. There's no charge to visit, but donations are accepted, and I will ENCOURAGE them! I look forward to visiting again when the rest of the museum is open to see what's a added and changes! Please stop, learn something you never knew, get a different perspective, meet an amazing individual, and support the art and culture of the resilient and proud Mescalero Apache People. ✌

This is a small museum of huge importance. People from all over the world come to learn more about the Apache ways. A very knowledgeable guide gives informative tours and answers all your questions. We're so proud of our local Apache history and being able to see the Mescalero Apache Tribe as guardians of this little slice of the world's heritage, keeping it alive and making it accessible to all those interested is such a lesson on stewardship.
