The Occindental in Bilbao is a 15 minute taxi ride from the Airport. The rooms are spacious, bright and the beds are very comfortable. The staff are very helpful. We had breakfast both mornings and it was very tasty and well prepared. There is a gym attached to the Hotel which we chose to avoid.
The Hotel is in a fantastic location. A 10 minute walk takes you the Metro station . The station is one stop away from the Old Town Centre stop.
This Hotel ticks all the right boxes and is one I would recommend to any would be visitors to Bilbao.

I was in Occidental bilbao hotel for my birthday and I thought it would be nice but only the rooms left me good impression. Parking was not free so I had to find somewhere else and found my self in the other side of town. Also food inside the restaurant not so good , ordered some pasta bolognese and I got something like 5 piece of pasta cold with no beef . Just poor I had my birthday and it was very low standards for a beautiful hotel like this

The hotel was easily accessible, but the parking fee of 22 euros per day was too high for us. We stayed for nine nights, so it added up to quite a lot. It was mentioned that you could reach the city center in about nine minutes, but the location is a bit of a maze, so it actually took much longer. The room was okay, and the bathroom was large, but there was barely any closet space in the bedroom—just one narrow cabinet—so we had to leave our clothes in our suitcases. The room was cleaned daily and looked neat. The air conditioning and TV worked perfectly. The breakfast had plenty of variety and was good. However, there was only an outdoor swimming pool that was free to use; all other facilities required extra payment, which was a downside. There was no garden or park-like area to relax in, which was also a bit disappointing. The parking garage itself was fine and offered plenty of space, both underground and outside, but the parking card often malfunctioned, so we had to go to the reception frequently to fix it. The Wi-Fi connection was unstable and would drop out and come back randomly. The smoking area was right at the entrance, so we had to walk through smoke every time we entered the hotel. The reception staff was polite but quite brief and not very helpful when we had an issue with the payment card; eventually, they did help us, but not in a particularly friendly manner. Overall, we’d rate the hotel a 6. If you’re looking for a clean place for a short stay with breakfast, it’s fine, but for a longer stay of nine days, there aren’t many facilities to keep you entertained.

We stayed at the Occidental Bilbao Hotel and appreciated the great location, comfy beds, and friendly staff—especially the wonderful lady at the coffee bar near reception! The swimming pool was a nice touch and made our stay more enjoyable. On the downside, the rooms were quite warm for our taste, and we missed having smart TVs for Netflix. The bathrooms showed some rust and could use an update. Overall, good value for the location and excellent hospitality.

Hotel was good location, comfortable lounge area nice views. I would not bother having dinner there, it was over priced, not great and took ages, so many nice places a few minutes walk away. We ate there the first night, regretted it after. We booked the hotel for the pool because we had 2 teens with us that wanted pool, if you don't have lounger by 10 in morning, you'd be very lucky to get one. No room service bar closes at 11. It's a good base and pool table is good if you back early but there is competition for it too, that stops at 11 too.

We stayed two nights. Rooms are basic, decor different shade of brown which I disliked but my husband liked! The outdoor pool is lovely, open at 9am. Skip the breakfast as the cafe in the lobby is cheaper and friendly.

Nice hotel
Relatively close to centre.
Staff were lovely.
Breakfast and dinner great.
Only issue is that I chose it for the pool. However there are very few sun loungers... So most people had to put a towel on the floor. Shame.

The hotel was quiet, comfortable and good for solo travellers like myself or families. It has a safe car park which was useful as I was driving. It's close to the metro and there are plenty of shops within a few minutes walk.
