We chose this hotel for the location that we were visiting and it had underground parking @ €19 per day. The room was comfortable, spacious and mainly quiet. There was a kettle with teas and coffees. There was a safe in the room but you would need to ask for the key. The parking spaces were okay but depending on the size of your car and how good the person next to you has parked! A ten minute walk from the Congress centre. Belén checked us in and out and very helpful and efficient. The parking entrance is just before the hotel and there is a short parking bay in front of the hotel. The carpark entrance and exit is the same and can be a problem if a car entering and exiting at the same time.

The staff at the Occidental Granada were incredibly warm, friendly and welcoming! As a solo traveller, this is very important and it made me feel safe, reassured and comfortable being there. ||||The cleaning staff did a stellar job to maintain a clean environment and were respectful throughout my stay. The additional unexpected touches, like the complimentary bottle of water in the fridge and the windows that open were a pleasant surprise (on the hotel description it said the windows didn't open).||||There are lots of eateries nearby and a short walk from the shopping (if this is your interest) and a nice walk from the cathedral and areas of historical interest. ||||This hotel under promises and over delivers and I would definitely stay here again. I have already recommended it to friends.

The hotel is a bit out of the centre, but we liked this position more. Most POIs are within a walking distance, and there is a stop of the single line Granada Metro nearby. Nice room and comfortable beds.

I can recommend this hotel to everyone coming to Granada. The city is quite central, just in 10 minutes on foot you reach the Centro. Around the corner there is a supermarket and you can buy water and snacks at the reception. Everyone was very friendly and I would like to thank especially the guys in the restaurant. I just asked if there is milk in the scrambled egg (as I am lactose intolerant) and they made scrambled eggs for me with dairy free milk and brought it in just a few minutes which I really appreciated. We had a triple room and it was large and clean and we had everything we needed in the room. There is a little refrigerator, a kettle with tea and coffee and a quick steamer.

On our last day we couldn't have breakfast because we had to go to the airport before the opening hour of the restaurant. So they gave us lunch boxes which we really appreciate but in the car we noticed that we cannot eat the sandwiches as all of them contained pork meat (we are Muslims). We had to say that we would like to have a vegetarian lunch box, but we didn't think about it at that moment. Last but not least, I woke up a bit earlier than wanted as a Spanish man was shouting for a while in the corridor. Of course it is not the fault of the hotel. All in all, I liked the hotel and I would come again if I came to Granada again.

The room is ok. I had requested a double, at least, bed but got a single. One of my travelling companions wanted washing done but they tried putting her off. One complimentary bottle of water, then nothing at all in mini bar, not even to purchase. I’m sure there are plenty more places in Granada better suited. The only blight on this tour.

Nice enough hotel situated in a good location. Staff was friendly and responsive however a lot of the amenities like the restaurants were closed.
The biggest issue was the A/C it did not work. Blew barely any air. A portable fan would have been better. In a room with four people and their own beds we were all sweating. We had the AC turned down to the lowest, curtains closed lights off. Nothing helped, unfortunately all rooms are like this and the poor staff could do nothing. “That is just how it is.” Is what they said.
If they fixed the A/C the rating would go up substantially.

**Update 04Aug**
I do need to update from the hotels response. I do feel that my complaint was taken seriously the staff never at one point ignored our complaint or made us feel like we weren’t valuable. A technician was sent to the room to try and help but unfortunately could not fix what is not broken. We were moved to another room on a lower floor which did help slightly but with 4 people in a family room it was not much much better.
I do appreciate their willingness to help and their concern. Wonderful staff but the HVAC does need updating.

At 1:00 am, in the middle of the night, we could not find a hotel reservation. While waiting in the cold in the street, we kindly asked if one member of our family group could use the WC as it was extremely chilly. Shockingly, both receptionists refused our request.

This was not only unhelpful but also very disappointing, as it was a simple humanitarian need. I strongly believe the staff should be trained to show basic compassion and humanity before focusing only on procedures.
