Had a horrible experience here. Went with my Peruvian wife and half Peruvian son to a supposed cultural event on Peru here. The event was provided by mostly Mexican descendants. Only the event was all New Age hogwash and a total distortion of actual Peruvian history, cultural, and events. We had gone to Tia Chucha's about a week after returning from a 6-week trip to Peru. On raising our concerns about the total distortions of actual Peruvian culture and history, I was threatened to shut up, and was told that being white, I wasn't allowed to speak on such matters, and my Peruvian wife wasn't allowed to speak either. When insisting that the information provided was incorrect, we were subsequently threatened with violence to take our family and leave immediately, or we would be escorted out by force and beaten up outside. Management did absolutely nothing to intervene in this outrage. I later wrote a letter to management following up on this absurd racism, but it was entirely ignored. Unless you want to hear a bunch of fake New Age hyperbolic history and be threatened for questioning it, avoid this so-called cultural center at all costs. Nothing but a bunch of racist, New Age idiots.

One of the best bookstores in Southern California. They offer a great selection of books about CA, Latino writers, and great programs for all ages.

Attended an open mic night and had a great time listening to everyone that went up and shared. The night ended with a little impromptu dance party with a band that played and set up at the end of the night

If any one is anyone i would come here people are friendly and lots of odd books you can't really find anywhere else, their outreach program is pretty awesome and the music is genuine and full! The art is good and you can pretty much find what you need here. If you have children and need them to be open minded and more in tune with their spirituality this is the place to come. When they have events they go all out you won't regreat join one of their many classes they offer you can really learn alot.

Love love love this bookstore!!! My only problem is is that I want to buy all the books!! Beautiful variety of children's books. You could spend hours here choosing.
